A Heaven sent revival is the urgent need of the hour! We are living in an hour where many churches have backslided and who are denying the fundamental truths of God’s Word and where society has degenerated and are disobeying God’s laws and are breaking His everlasting covenant for example abortion laws have been passed in society that permit mothers to murder their unborn babies! Sexual perversion is rampant and what is described in the Bible as detestable sin is accepted . What We read in Rom. 1:26-27 is prevalent and spreading in our society. “Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.”
Our holy God calls the above sin as detestable: detestable can be defined as something that is disgusting, shocking, hateful or awful.
The Bible clearly teaches us in Lev. 18:22““ ‘ and I quote “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.”
A new generation has sprung up that knows very little or nothing of God and His ways
If the church in the West does not repent of her backsliding, her moral decay, materialism, unbelief, lukewarmness, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God and return to the God of her fathers and realize her responsibility to be a light and a salt in the community and nation then the enemy will creep in.
God’s Word tells us in Ezekiel, “And I sought a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.”
Ezekiel 22:30 AMP
God was looking for an intercessor in Ezekiel’s time who would build up the wall, a wall of defense against spiritual invading forces but very sad to say He found none.
Diabolical spiritual forces such as terrorist groups are endeavoring to stealthily creep into our society and into the nations. Their goal is to gain power and then to destroy innocent lives just because they are Christians or Jews or any other group that is not submitting to their agenda! We see this happening in Afghanistan with the Taliban in these days!
Jesus in showing the difference between his purpose for coming and the devil’s purpose said, “The thief (the devil) comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”-John 10:10 AMP
If we think that we can overcome our enemy by our stronger military might and our powerful allies then we are deceiving ourselves. God’s Word warns us: “This is what the LORD says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD.”
Jeremiah 17:5 NLT
At one time in the early centuries of Christianity, North Africa had a strong Christian church but it backslid and substituted a vibrant, apostolic Christianity with dead rituals thus making it possible for Islam to take over.
Whenever there are great needs in the land, for example economic difficulties, wars, natural calamities, epidemics and pandemics etc., the root cause is sin in the church and amongst the lives of individual Christians. This is a time for God’s children to take seriously the message of 2Chronicles 7: 13-14 ““When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,”
“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
In past revivals of bygone days revivials have come when there were great needs and darkness in the land! Under these most difficult circumstances when a remnant of God’s people met the conditions of 2 Chron. 7:14 and earnestly and urgently cried unto God God being a covenant keeping God who cannot lie and who always keeps His promises heard and answered their prayers, poured out His Spirit and healed their land.
For example we have this account of the great Welsh Revivial by Oswald J. Smith and I quote:
“IT was in 1904. All Wales was aflame. The nation had drifted far from God. The spiritual conditions were low indeed. Church attendance was poor. And sin abounded on every side.
Suddenly, like an unexpected tornado. the Spirit of God swept over the land. The Churches were crowded so that multitudes were unable to get in. Meetings lasted from ten in the morning until twelve at night. Three definite services were held each day. Evan Roberts was the human instrument, but there was very little preaching. Singing, testimony, and prayer, were the chief features. There were no hymn books; they had learnt the hymns in childhood. No choir, for everybody sang. No collection; and no advertising.
Nothing had ever come over Wales with such far-reaching results. Infidels were converted, drunkards, thieves, and gamblers saved; and thousands reclaimed to respectability. Confessions of awful sins were heard on every side. Old debts were paid. The theatre had to leave for want of patronage. Mules in the coal mines refused to work, being unused to kindness. In five weeks 20,000 joined the Churches.”
Dear friends this is the kind of Revivial we need
Pastors and Christian leaders I would encourage you to call your people that God has given you responsibility over to seasons of prayer and to pray as never before for revival and that the spiritual forces that are already invading our lands will be held back, confused and defeated and that God would pour out His Spirit upon us in a mighty way so that God’s presence and glory might comes so mightily into our churches, our communities, our cities and our nation that both saint and sinner are convicted and turn to God. Saints in forsaking all carelessness and hidden sins, lukewarmness and returning to the Lord and sinners crying for mercy and calling on the Lord for salvation . When these conditions are met, God’s promise is that He would heal our land!
