God has Given us Mighty Weapons with which to Fight Our Enemy:

God has given us mighty Spiritual Weapons with which to Fight Our Enemy:

We read in 2Cor. 10:4-5 and I quote:

“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,”

In our voice messages entitled, “What it means to pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus,” part one and part two we shared how the Name of Jesus is a mighty weapon against the devil! You can find the written messages on my blog, kenkorol.wordpress.com

Let us never underestimate the wonderful power there is in in the Name of Jesus when we pray with the right motive and with the right attitude of heart. We have the example of Peter and John in the healing of the lame man as found in Acts 3:4-7 and I quote:

“Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened.”

What a wonderful Name, The name of Jesus! It is a name that is above every other name, all the armies of Heaven are behind that name, all the Godhead stands behind that Name. Sickness, disease, depression and demon powers must flee at that name! Miracles, signs and wonders take place through that mighty Name! All the powers of darkness and all angelic beings must bow before that Name! The wonder of all wonders that we who are God’s children have the great privilege and honor of asking the Father for whatever we may have need of in that Name, which includes healing, and if we ask in faith, we have the wonderful assurance that He will answer our request.-“ We read about the wonderful promise found in John 16:23-24, and I quote, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

John 16:23-24 NKJV

Another mighty weapon the Lord has given us against the enemy of our soul is the Word of God. You can read more about this very important subject in my blog, kenkorol.wordpress.com, it is entitled “The Power of God’s Spoken Word”.

We read in Eph. 6 that the Apostle Paul in speaking about the whole armor of God lists the Word of God as one of the weapons listed, “ and I quote, ““And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;” We see here that “the sword of the Spirit” is the Word of God!

(Ephesians 6:17 NKJV)

Jesus defeated the devil the three times He was tempted by him in the wilderness by coming against him with The Word of God! Every time He was tempted He declared what the Word of God said about that particular temptation saying, “It is written…, it is written…, it is written! We read in Col. 2:15 that God took away Satan’s weapons at the cross and I quote, (“And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”-Colossians 2:15 NIV) end of quote. Now the only way Satan can fight us and endeavor to defeat us is through deception, through lies, through bluff, through accusation, through evil temptations. He overcomes us when we believe his lies and yield to his subtle temptations. This is why it is so important for us to know the Word of God and to confess or declare the Word of God in the face of every temptation and attack of the enemy!

We read in Heb. 10:23 that we are to hold fast our confession! This means that we are not to give up making our confession even in the face of deepest trials, and I quote:

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” End of quote.

We read this also in Heb. 4:14, “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.”

In Heb. 3:1 we read that Jesus is the High priest of our confession and I quote:

“Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.” End of quote.

In the above verse Jesus is described as the High Priest of our confession! Before we can activate Jesus as High Priest to intercede on our behalf we must confess! To confess means, “to say the same thing as!” First off, the word “confess” simply means to agree with God. The word in Greek means according to Strong’s Concordance, homologeō, is to say the same thing as another, i.e. to agree with, assent. For us who are Christian believers, we say the same thing as God says in His Word, it means agreeing with God, it is proclaiming His Word, His promises and claiming them as our very own! Because God promises it in His Word we can confess and affirm it with our mouth and declare, “it is my mine!”

Your senses may tell you that you are sick but the Word of God tells you that you are healed and we believe that God’s Word is more reliable that our senses. The following verses are appropriate verses you can confess. Firstly in Isaiah 53: 4-5, and I quote, “Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains — he hath carried them, And we — we have esteemed him plagued, Smitten of God, and afflicted. And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace [is] on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us.”

(Isaiah 53:4-5 YLT98)

Secondly in Matt. 8:16-17, and I quote, “And evening having come, they brought to him many demoniacs, and he did cast out the spirits with a word, and did heal all who were ill, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, ‘Himself took our infirmities, and the sicknesses he did bear.’” End of quote.

(Matthew 8:16-17 YLT98)

Thirdly in 1Pet. 2:24, and I quote, “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”

(I Peter 2:24 NKJV) End of quote.

You can declare and proclaim the above verses in the face of all your symptoms.and sicknesses along with thanksgiving and praise for God’s wonderful promises and Word. No matter how severe or how long you are tested hold fast to your declaration with the testimony of God’s Word that you are indeed healed. As you continue to do so your faith is being activated, your senses come into line with God’s precious Word and your healing becomes a tangible reality.

A little dog followed its Owner to the bus stop, the owner tried to persuade the dog to go back home, by saying please little doggie go back home but the dog would not go home and the bus was coming closer so the owner stamped his foot and shouted, go home and the dog ran home as fast as he could! why? Because he heard the voice of authority. Dear friends this is exactly how we are to treat the devil. Let us be fully aware of the fact that the devil is a defeated foe and has been stripped of his weapons. Therefore with authority we can declare James 4:7 ““Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Then in faith we can thank and praise God for the victory!

Shall we pray:

What does it mean to pray to the Father in Jesus Name- part two:

What does it mean to pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus- Part two:

(d) Fourthly, We pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus because Jesus is the only way to the Father.

We read in 1Peter 3:18

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God…”

We read here that it is Jesus, God’s Son that brings us to God the Father.

We also read This stated in St.John 14:6:

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

We also read in 1Timothy 2:5:

“For there is [only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and mankind, the Man Christ Jesus,”

A mediator is one who stands between or stands in the middle between two parties that need to be reconcilled with each other. Jesus is the only one that can reconcile sinful man with a holy God

1 Timothy 2:5 AMP

(e) Fiftly, We pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus because it was through Jesus death and sacrifice on the cross that God the Father completely and forever defeated the devil and provided us with a perfect sacrifice whereby we can be completely forgiven of all our sins and brought back into fellowship with Himself.

We read in Col. 2:13-15:

“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”

Therefore when we pray in the Name of Jesus we are reminding Satan and all evil angels and demons that they are totally defeated and that we have been reconcilled with God and given authority through that Name to resist the devil in our lives, in our situation, in our home, in our circumstances and in the lives of others.

(f) Sixtly, When we pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus all the resources of Heaven are made available to us.

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

Romans 8:31-32 NKJV

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”

2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV.

God says “yes“, declaring that all his promises are available to us through Christ, we respond in faith by saying “Amen”.

We read this also in Phil. 4:19:

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

(g) Seventhly, When we pray in the Name of Jesus, we are praying in the most powerful Name in the universe.

We read in Phillipians 2:9-11:

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Philippians 2:9-11 NIV

At the Name of Jesus used with authority and reverence and with a clean heart heart and motives demons tremble the power of sickness is broken, people with evil habits and who are oppressed and possessed of the devil are

set free

“Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened.”

Acts of the Apostles 3:4-7 NLT

Let us never underestimate the power that is in the name of Jesus! It is a name that is above every other name, all the angels of Heaven are behind that name, all the Godhead stands behind that Name. Sickness, disease, depression and demon powers must flee at that name! Miracles, signs and wonders take place through that mighty Name! All the powers of darkness and all evil angelic beings and demons must bow before that Name! The wonder of all wonders is that we who are God’s children have the great privilege and honor of asking the Father for whatever we may have need of in that Name, which includes healing, and if we ask in faith, we have the wonderful assurance that He will answer our request.-“…Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

John 16:23-24 NKJV

What does it mean to Pray to God the Father in Jesus Name-part one

What does it mean to pray to God the Father in Jesus’ Name: Part One

1. What is Jesus’ role in our prayer life and what does it mean to pray to God the Father in Jesus’ Name:

We are invited to come to the Father in and through the Name of Jesus. We see this is repeated at least three times in the Gospel of John- First we will read from John 15:16:

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”

John 15:16 NKJV

Secondly we will read from John 16:23-24:

““And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

John 16:23-24 NKJV

And thirdly we will read from John 16:26-27:

“In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.”

John 16:26-27

Why do we pray in the Name of Jesus? Is it because we have heard others pray in this name and it has become a ritual, a routine, a habit, something that we add to the end of our prayer without knowing why!

(a) Firstly, To pray in Jesus Name means that we are have access to the Father not in our own righteousness, not because of our own worth, goodness or good works but through the righteousness of Jesus and therefore we are able to come in His presence with boldness and without fear, without shame, and without guilt. The devil would tempt us in making us think that we are unworthy that we failed God so many times that we do not deserve God’s mercy and fellowship, that God does not love us etc. but As we approach God in the Name of Jesus we are implying that through the blood of Jesus we are able to come with boldness into His presence:

We read in Heb. 10:19:22

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

Hebrews 10:19-22, NKJ

In the above verse we see that we have boldness or confidence to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus. The holiest is the most holy place in the universe, it is the place where God The Father has His throne!

The prophet Isaiah had a vision of the throne of God and God’s holiness. we read about it in Isaiah 6:1-3

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.””

Isaiah 6:1-3 NIV

The Seraphims, which are known as the highest angelic order were flying around God’s throne and proclaiming to one another God’s holiness.

Thank God that in the Name of Jesus we can come with boldness into the presence of our holy but yet loving Father.

(b) Seconly, Praying in the Name of Jesus implies that we do not come as beggars into God’s presence, not as savants even but that we come as sons and daughters.

We read in Eph. 1:3-6

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”

Ephesians 1:4-6 NIV

We also read in Gal. 4:6-7 and I am reading from “The passion translation”

“And so that we would know for sure that we are his true children, God released the Spirit of Sonship into our hearts—moving us to cry out intimately, “My Father! You’re our true Father!” Now we’re no longer living like slaves under the law, but we enjoy being God’s very own sons and daughters! And because we’re his, we can have access to everything our Father has—for we are heirs of God through Jesus, the Messiah!”

Galatians 4:6-7 TPT

c) Thirdly, When we pray in Jesus Name we recognize that we have a high priest, our precious Lord Jesus Christ who is representing us, welcoming us, and pleading our case before the Father.

We read this also in Heb. 10:21-22 and I am also reading from “The passion translation”

“And since we now have a magnificent High Priest to welcome us into God’s house, we come closer to God and approach him with an open heart, fully convinced that nothing will keep us at a distance from him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity, and we have been freed from an accusing conscience. Now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out!”

Hebrews 10:21-22 TPT

We also read in 1John 2:1 that Jesus Christ is our advocate.

“My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God’s law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father’s will in every way—purpose, thought, and action].”

1 John 2:1 AMP

An advocate is one who pleads on another’s behalf.

Therefore when we pray in Jesus Name, it is as though Jesus Himself were doing the praying. He takes our place before the Father and He also makes intercession for us!

We read in Heb. 7:25:

“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”

It is encouraging to know that God always hears the prayers of Jesus for

we read in John 11:41-42:

“…“Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.

Shall we pray: If you are sick please lay your hand upon your body I believe that as I pray, not in my own righteousness, not because of who I am, not in my own name but in the name of Jesus disease will leave sick bodies, those oppressed by the devil will be set free, those that are bound by fear and evil habits will be set free.

If you are one of those who receive a touch from the Lord in your bodies this morning please let us know!

Thank you for listening and we look forward to completing this series in what it means to pray to the Father in Jesus Name with you all again soon.

The Power of God’s Spoken Word broadcast on the 5th. Of August, 2022

The Power of God’s Spoken Word:

God’s written Word in our mouth brings wonderful results when we proclaim it in faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

In Psalm 33:6 we read:

“By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth. [Heb. 11:3; II Pet. 3:5.]”

We see in this verse that creation was accomplished by God’s Word coupled with His breath or His Spirit as the Word breath in the Hebrew means. The Full Life Study Bible explains this verse in this way and I quote, “The Breath. “Ruach” here translated breath can also mean “spirit”; the breath of God is thus equivalent to the activity of God’s Spirit. This verse contains an important Biblical truth: the Union of the power of God’s word with the power of God’s Spirit (through the operation of faith) always releases the creative power of God on behalf of His people.” End of quote

From the above verse we see how important it is that God’s Word be anointed by the Holy Spirit in order to be effective.

When the The Holy Spirit and the Word of God meet together great things are accomplished.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

The Word translated inspired literally means God breathed and therefore is directly connected with the Holy Spirit. Therefore the Holy Spirit is the divine author and inspired and led those who wrote the Bible.

We see this brought out also very clearly in 2 Peter 1,20-21: “knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”

II Peter 1:20-21 NKJV

“The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.”

Psalms 12:6 NKJV

From the above scriptures we can ascertain or conclude that God’s Word is totally reliable and can be fully trusted.

In Eph. 6:17, we read that the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God the word of God here in the Greek, the original language the New Testament was written in, is “Rhema” which means, “the spoken word of God.” The Bible in your book shelf will not help you unless you read it, meditate on it, obey it and proclaim it.

We see also from the above verse that God’s spoken Word anointed by the Holy Spirit is a mighty weapon against the devil our arch enemy!

In Heb. 4:12 we read again how God’s Word is likened to a sword.

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Hebrews 4:12

The Holy Spirit once spoke the following words to Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke,”My word in your mouth is just as powerful as My Word in My mouth.”

God’s Word in our mouth, we who are born again and Spirit filled and Spirit anointed believers, as we proclaim it and speak it in faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit, is very powerful! The power is not in our strength or holiness but in God’s spoken Word and God’s Spirit that Work together. The weapon that Jesus used to defeat Satan with was God’s Word! Every time Jesus was tempted by the devil He declared in the face of the tempter, “It is written, it is written, it is written! As a result the enemy was silenced

Let us also follow Jesus’ example and extend God’s authority in areas where Satan is dominating in our lives, in our family and in the lives of others by the mighty weapon of God’s spoken Word and through the power of the Holy Spirit. Let us resist him in the mighty Name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit with the Word of God, declaring it is written, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Luke 10:19 NKJV

Every believer can exercise spiritual authority: we read in James 4:7 from the Amp. Version.

“So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.”

The Bible no where says that God will resist the devil for the believer!

On the contrary every believer must exercise the spiritual authority that has been delegated to them by our Lord Jesus Christ when He said, “All authority has been given to me, go you therefore…”

The word “flee” means “to run from as in terror” The devil and every demon of hell is very much afraid of those believers who recognizes and exercises their spiritual authority!
