The Great Importance of Thankfulness in the Christian’s Life:

Good Morning dear friends, Welcome again to Insights From God’s precious Word:

Shall we begin by committing this time to the Lord in prayer:

As we begin this message I would like to invite you to proclaim God’s Word together with me. Remember that God’s Word os living and very powerful and as we proclaim it out loud faith is growing in our hearts.

We read in Romans 10: 17 that “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” The more you hear yourself declaring God’s Word the more you will believe it and thus the truths you proclaim will eventually become a reality in your life.

This week we will proclaim together Ps. 100:4:-5. I will read it first then we can proclaim it together:

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.”

Psalms 100:4-5 NKJV

God’s Name is a reflection of who He is, of His character. Therefore when we pray the prayer Jesus taught us to pray in Matt. 6:9: “Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.”

we pray that God our Heavenly Father may be treated as holy. This means that we approach God with reverence. This expression also leads us to thank Him, to praise Him, to admire, adore and to worship Him, He who alone is holy.

How do we come into God’s presence:

In Eph. 2:18 we read that through Jesus by the Holy Spirit we have access to the Father, we read, “For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.” The Holy Spirit brings us into the very presence of God our Father on the basis of what Christ has accomplished for us on the cross!

In in Heb. 10:19 we read

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.”

O thank God that through the blood of Jesus we have access into the holiest place in the universe:

As we come into God’s presence unworthy though we are and incapable of coming into His presence because of how good we are or because of our good works but only on the basis of what Christ has done for us. When we realize what a great, wonderful, holy God how Heavenly Father is and for His wonderful salvation He has provided for us through Jesus Christ we see how very appropriate it is to come into His presence with thanksgiving, praise and worship

In Psalm 95:2, Psalm 100:4 and Psalm 95:6 we have God’s order as to how we come into God’s presence and therefore it is very important that we follow this order. The order is first thanksgiving, then praise, then worship.

Today we will talk about thanksgiving:

In Psalm 100:4 we read, “Let us enter His gates with thanksgiving.” (Psalm 100:4) Through the sacrifice of thanksgiving we thank our Wonderful Father for all His wonderful provision and goodness, for example we thank Him for food, shelter, health, clothing, for our family, our friends, for our church family, for His precious Word, for His wonderful promises, for His great salvation, for healing us, for sending us Jesus, for the Holy Spirit, for the precious blood of Jesus and for all His wonderful blessings etc.

We read in Psalm 50:23 that our sacrifice of thanksgiving honors God and prepares the way for God to answer our prayers:

“Anyone who sacrifices thank offerings to me honors me. He makes it possible for me to show him that I am the God who saves.” (Psalm 50:23 NIRV)

We read in 2Cor. 2:14

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”

A triumph is the celebration of a victory that has already been won.

Instead of bringing before God again and again our needs and praying that a God would please hear our prayers we begin to thank Him in faith for the victory already won!

Paul writing to the Colossians emphasizes in Col 3:15-17 the great need of being thankful

Notice that the words, be thankful, gratitude, and giving of thanks is mentioned three times in these two verses.

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Colossians 3:15-17 NIV

The legend is told of a man who found the barn where Satan kept seeds to be sown in the human heart.  There were seeds of “Anger”, “Lust”, “Greed”, “Fear”, “Bitterness”,  “Jealousy”,  “Deceit”, “Violence”, “Dishonesty”, “Fear”, “Confusion”, and many, many more!  But as the man looked around the barn it quickly became obvious that most numerous seed in his arsenal were the seeds of “Discouragement”.  When he inquired as to why this was so, his guide told him it was because the seeds of “discouragement” could grow almost anywhere.

The word “almost” intrigued the man. When he pressed for a further explanation the guide reluctantly told him there was one place were the seeds of discouragement would never grow.

“And where is that?’ asked the man.

The guide sadly replied, “In the heart of a grateful man.”

Let us see that one of Satan’s most effective tactics against God’s children is discouragement causing us to murmur and complain. One of of the most effective weapons we can use against him is to have a grateful heart that expresses itself in thankfulness and in praise.

In closing I will proclaim these important verses found in Ps. 107:21-22, “Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing.”

We see here that the psalmist really wants us to see the importance of this Word, Oh that men would give thanks… As we begin to proclaim God’s living and powerful word, words that are appropriate for our particular request and begin to thank Him in faith for the victory already accomplished great things are taking place in the spirit world that are bringing about the answer to our every need.

Faithful Servants

His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord. “

-Matthew 25:21

Christ, who is the express image of God (Heb. 1:3), has come to our human weaknesses in order to change them and us into a divine likeness so that, by the power of His might, we may not only overcome but also rejoice in the fact that we are more than overcomers. God wants you to be “more than conquerors” (Rom. 8:37). The baptism of the Spirit has come for nothing less than to possess the whole of our lives. It sets up Jesus as King, and nothing can stand in His holy presence when He is made King. Everything will wither before Him. The inheritance of the Spirit is given to every man “for the profit of all” (1 Cor. 12:7). Praise the Lord! In the order of the Holy Spirit, we have to “come short in no gift” (1 Cor. 1:7).

This same Jesus has come for one purpose: that He might be made so manifest in us that the world will see Him. We must be burning and shining lights to reflect such a holy Jesus. We cannot do it with cold, indifferent experiences, and we never will. My dear wife used to say to our daughter, “Alice, what kind of a meeting have you had?” Alice would say, “Ask Father. He always has a good time!” His servants are to be flames. Jesus is life, and the Holy Spirit is the breath. He breathes through us the life of the Son of God, and we give it to others, and it gives life everywhere.

You should have been with me in Ceylon! I was having meetings in a Wesleyan chapel. The people there said, “You know, four days are not much to give us.” “No,” I said, “but it is a good share.” They said, “What are we going to do? We are not touching the people here at all.” I said, “Can you have a meeting early in the morning, at eight o’clock?” They said they would, so I said, ”We will tell all the mothers who want their babies to be healed and all the old people over seventy to come. Then after that, I will hope to give an address to the people to make them ready for the Holy Spirit.”

Oh, it would have done you all good to see four hundred mothers there with their babies! It was fine! And then to see one hundred and fifty old black people, with their white hair, coming to be healed. I believe that you need to have something more than smoke to touch people; you need to be a burning light for that. His ministers must be flames of fire. There were thousands gathered outside the chapel to hear the Word of God. There were about three thousand people crying for mercy at the same time. I tell you, it was a sight.

After that, attendance at the meetings rose to such an extent that every night, five to six thousand people gathered there after I had preached in a temperature of 110 degrees. Then I had to minister to these people. But I tell you, a flame of fire can do anything. Things change in the fire. This is Pentecost. But what moved me more than anything else was this (and I say this carefully and with a broken spirit because I would not like to mislead anybody): there were hundreds who tried to touch me because they were so impressed with the power of God that was present. And they testified everywhere that with a touch, they were healed. It was not the power of Wigglesworth. It was because they had the same faith that was with those at Jerusalem who believed that Peter’s shadow would heal them. (See Acts 5:14-15.)

What do you want? Is anything too hard for God? God can meet you now. God sees inwardly. He knows all about you. Nothing is hidden from Him, and He can satisfy the soul and give you a spring of eternal blessing that will carry you right through.

An up to date prophecy given in 1968 by a 90 year old Woman from Norway:

A very up to date Prophecy Given in 1968 by a 90 Year Old Woman in Norway:

An old woman of 90 from Valdres in Norway had a vision from God in 1968. The evangelist Emanuel Minos had meetings (services) where she lived. He had the opportunity to meet her, and she told him what she had seen. He wrote it down, but thought it to be so unintelligible that he put it in a drawer. Now, almost 30 years later, he understands he has to share the vision with others.
The woman from Valdres was a very alert, reliable, awake and credible Christian, with a good reputation among all who knew her.

This is what she saw:

“I saw the time just before the coming of Jesus and the outbreak of the Third World War. I saw the events with my natural eyes. I saw the world like a kind of a globe and saw Europe, land by land. I saw Scandinavia. I saw Norway. I saw certain things that would take place just before the return of Jesus, and just before the last calamity happens, a calamity the likes of which we have never before experienced.
She mentioned four waves:

  1. “First before Jesus comes and before the Third World War breaks out there will be a ‘détente’ like we have never had before. There will be peace between the super powers in the east and the west, and there will be a long peace. (Remember, that this was in 1968 when the cold war was at its highest. E. Minos) In this period of peace there will be disarmament in many countries, also in Norway and we are not prepared when it (the war) comes. The Third World War will begin in a way no one would have anticipated – and from an unexpected place.
  2. “A lukewarmness without parallel will take hold of the Christians, a falling away from true, living Christianity. Christians will not be open for penetrating preaching. They will not, like in earlier times, want to hear of sin and grace, law and gospel, repentance and restoration. There will come a substitute instead: prosperity (happiness) Christianity.
“The important thing will be to have success, to be something; to have material things, things that God never promised us in this way. Churches and prayer houses will be emptier and emptier. Instead of the preaching we have been used to for generations -like, to take your cross up and follow Jesus, – entertainment, art and culture will invade the churches where there should have been gatherings for repentance and revival. This will increase markedly just before the return of Jesus.
  3. “There will be a moral disintegration that old Norway has never experienced the likes of. People will live together like married without being married. (I do not believe the concept ‘co-habitor’? existed in 1968 – E. Minos.) Much uncleanness before marriage, and much infidelity in marriage will become the natural (the common), and it will be justified from every angle. It will even enter Christian circles and we pet it – even sin against nature. Just before Jesus return there will be TV- programs like we have never experienced. (TV had just arrived in Norway in 1968. E. Minos)
“TV will be filled with such horrible violence that it teaches people to murder and destroy each other, and it will be unsafe in our streets. People will copy what they see. There will not be only one ‘station’ on TV, it will be filled with ‘stations.’ (She did not know the word ‘channel’ which we use today. Therefore she called them stations. E. Minos.) TV will be just like the radio where we have many ‘stations,’ and it will be filled with violence. People will use it for entertainment. We will see terrible scenes of murder and destruction one of the other, and this will spread in society. Sex scenes will also be shown on the screen, the most intimate things that takes place in a marriage.” (I protested and said, we have a paragraph that forbids this kind of thing. E. Minos.) There the old woman said: “It will happen, and you will see it. All we have had before will be broken down, and the most indecent things will pass before our eyes.”
  4. “People from poor countries will stream to Europe. (In 1968 there was no such thing as immigration. E. Minos.) They will also come to Scandinavia – and Norway. There will be so many of them that people will begin to dislike them and become hard with them. They will be treated like the Jews before the Second World War. Then the full measure of our sins will have been reached (I protested at the issue of immigration. I did not understand it at the time. E. Minos.)

1968 Prophecy by 90 Year Old Woman in Norway
The tears streamed from the old woman’s eyes down her cheeks. “I will not see it, but you will. Then suddenly, Jesus will come and the Third World War breaks out. It will be a short war.” (She saw it in the vision.)
“All that I have seen of war before is only child’s play compared to this one, and it will be ended with a nuclear atom bomb. The air will be so polluted that one cannot draw one’s breath. It will cover several continents, America, Japan, Australia and the wealthy nations. The water will be ruined (contaminated?). We can no longer till the soil. The result will be that only a remnant will remain. The remnant in the wealthy countries will try to flee to the poor countries, but they will be as hard on us as we were on them.
“I am so glad that I will not see it, but when the time draws near, you must take courage and tell this. I have received it from God, and nothing of it goes against what the Bible tells.
“The one who has his sin forgiven and has Jesus as Savior and Lord, is safe.”
